Here's a question: Can fat girls wear heels?
Fortunately, I do not suffer from canklitis ( I just made that term up), but still feel I can't wear heels because I'm fat. Let me tell you why. A major part of it is adding to my size. The higher I am, the bigger I feel. The bigger I feel, I swear the fatter I am or appear to be. Maybe this is why I am always feeling fat in the shower?
Anyway, I own about 3 dozen pairs of flats, but no heels. And I really want some.
Now, I know I can just say F it and who cares, but let's be serious...I care. They wouldn't look dumb because of cankles (which according to google even Barbie has), but I've seen fat girls in heels and I just don't like the look. BUT, and this is a big but, (ha!), the girls I have seen wearing heels look as if their heels don't fit properly. Regardless of their size, that shoe was not supposed to fit. I would of course get heels that fit.
BUT ALSO! I think because I am fat that wearing heels hurts 10x more 10x faster than skinnies.
Let me know what you think...I'm seriously curious about this.

I have been fat and I have been thin and I agree that heels hurt much more and are more difficult to wear when heavy or just plain old larger. You're spreading more pressure across approximately the same amount of square inches - the size difference between a size 6 small foot and a size 11 large foot isn't great enough to make up for the difference in weight pressing on them.

I agree about pain being related to the amount of weight that pushes down on one's foot, but smaller heels are totally workable for me (the recent kitten heel craze has been good).
So long as you get heels that truly, truly fit, it's all good. I don't know if wearing heels makes your feet swell more easily, but I've been diligent about avoiding any straps or other decorations that could get sausage-casing-like just in case.
I don't have a problem with shoes... feet and my wrist are the only thing "not fat". But I have seen some people with feet like the picture. I would say if you like it and it looks good, go for it. If you don't like it, you will be thinking about it the entire time you are wearing them... who needs that stress! I am short, so heels help me...
I think wearing heels definitely hurts more when you're fat. You have more weight and pressure bearing down on the ball of your foot anyway. Add that to the fact that heels increase that pressure and you're screwed!
I currently work from home, but when I worked in an office shoes were one of my favorite things to buy. I'm a big girl but my calves ankles and feet are still hot. Shoes were one of the few things I could totally rock and added spice to my outfits.
Because I was heavier I preferred heels with ankle straps if they were above 4". The strap gave a little extra support.
They definitely would have hurt my feet if I was walking around a bunch. The longest walk I took in my office though was to get a cup of coffee down the hall. As soon as I'd get home I'd switch to flats.
Heels aren't going to make you look bigger, while they will make you taller, they also elongate the leg making it look slimmer. I would avoid ankle straps and strappy heels in general, just go for a basic pump. It makes sense right, if you stretch something out it looks slimmer? Of course, make sure the shoe fits. And stacked heels are always more sturdy so it's a good idea to go for a stacked heel (that's when the heel is made out of lots of like, horizontal slices of timber stacked on top of one another)
It is about what you feel great in but just remembef ladies keep it sassy and classy oh yea b4 I 4get its always looks better to where those heels with the thick sole at the front nd lets not 4gt to put dr scholls for her comfort padding in ur heels
Well, if you don't go for extremely high heels, it's not that bad. Also for heavy people, like moi, it's a MUST to buy shoes only of a really good make. (Read, expensive) I bought a pair from a shop at Bangkok. Not good. A late comment. But I just had to comment. Upto 4 inches is fine. Wedges, fine.
I have what I feel is the over kill of the cankle. I have very thick legs and ankles and have since shyd away from dress and heels alike. I want to wear these things but I feel so self conscious it takes all the fun out

I own over 100 pairs of heels. Buuuttttty since i gained a significant amount of weight they hurt soooooo bad. Sucks but weight loss here i come. I refuse yo wear a thick heel becausr the skinny ones make me feel so sexy and changes my walk from an awkard duck to a supermodel with curves on the runway
I'm 205 lbs. Wear a 7.5 stilletto and I swear if you watch youtube vidoes of DRAG QUEENS teaching you how to walk ( who carsa botu 95 lb asian chicks teaching us fattys) but they will get you to suck in, walk correctly and wham. you can do it. I recommend stewart weisman heels too.

It really comes down to how comfortable you are in them.
I started small and worked my way up to 4-5 inch heels (I don't wear taller heels due to the fact Im already 6ft and feel most comfortable with 4-5 inches)
I always make sure that I get the right size shoes as we can all probably agree that a shoe packed with foot (with spillage to boot!) isn't a smart look. Wide fit shoes can aid comfort.
Its also super important to get a feel for what it actually takes to walk in a pair of heels, and whilst it may be hard in the beginning, you'll find your bearings, strengthen the muscles in your feet and legs and begin to walk with ease..practice is essential and will permit you to wear heels with the vital necessity of pulling off heels with dignity - confidence!
I weigh 700 lb and can wear 6 inch stilettos. That's right, I weigh 700 lb and can wear 6 inch stilettos. My legs are pretty huge and the stilettos do get very tight around my fatty ankles but it suprisingly doesn't hurt them. And would you believe it, the heels are as thin as pencils! I wonder how they fit on my but they look so pretty on me. I went around the shops the other day and everyone seems to be watching me but I just ignore them and carry on. And by the way, I haven't been wobbling on those heels at all and I haven't broken any of 3 dozen stilettos so there's no reason why you should be worried about breaking your heels and besides, they only hurt a slight amount. I also don't have any trouble walking, unless I'm walking on a very steep hill or on a very bumpy surface. The only times when I don't wear stilettos are when I'm going outside and I'm walking on a rocky surface. The only real disadvantage that I have an "EXTREMELY" huge belly which sags out in front of me making wearing 6 inch stilettos far harder than skinnier 200 lb women 😩 but I'm practiced with them a lot of times and now I don't topple over any more. I also used to get scared that my "ENORMOUS" fatty legs would overwhelm the 6 inch heels and break them but now I'm very confident that they wouldn't break as well as "EXTREMELY" swelled up feet and you would see the fat from my feet sticking out which would hurt hurt a little but I couldn't find any 6 inch stilettos for my foot foot size. When I walk in the shops, people do look at me with a surprised expression on their face ps btw. So in conclusion, I believe that wearing stilettos for you shouldn't be a problem at all (heels breaking) and you should figure it out far quicker than when I did because of your lower weight. BTW, I do exercise quite a lot but I also eat a lot. That's why I can stand up and walk properly!!! Also people do look at my feet at back at me with surprised expression on their faces especially when I go to the shops and I don't see people as big as me very often.🤔PS: I'm probably the biggest girl in this forum.😯 Also, my name is Emily.😀
I checked my weight again today and I weigh 850 lb!!! My feet did hurt more than when I was 400 lb. My shoe size is 45 when it should be 50. I couldn't find any pair of 6 inch stilettos which were size 50 and were made out of titanium as well as having pencil thin heels but I did find a pair of 6 inch stilettos which were size 50 but were made out of plastic which also had pencil thin heels but the problem was that my fat 850 lb body would overwhelm the plastic heels and would snap them under my "ENORMOUS" weight. My stilettos are in a similar condition to the ones in the picture except I own 6 inch stilettos which have a heel that is as thin as a pencil. It is very difficult to squeeze my fat chunky feet into any of my 36 pairs of 6 inch stiletto shoes which are size 45. The fat from my feet bulges out and the shoe's edges scar my feet. It is quite painful but I can get over with it and now it doesn't hurt as much now and when I wear them for long periods of time, my feet become red. Another problem with wearing high heels with my weight being 850 lb is that the balls in my feet burn when I walk in them. My "HUMUNGOUS" 850 lb makes my feet sore and red at the end of the day, but again, I am used to the pain now. My final problem with wearing stilettos at the weight of 850 lb than at the weight of 400 lb or less is that my "MONSTROUS" belly which is so big that it saggs out 1 metre away from my body and this can make me fall down forward much easily because my belly takes up most of my weight but a woman 150 lb would barely have any tummy sticking out so they should figure how to not fall over quicker than I did and my heels at 6 inches so there is extra height at the back making me fall over even more likely. I am now confident that I can walk in heels without my "GINORMOUS" stomach or my tall heels tipping me over. My bottom, legs and arms and my stomach especially wobble whenI walk or run and it's really embarrassing when I'm walking in the street. Another major problem when walking in heels at 850 lb to 400 lb is that it is extremely hard to balance you're body with you're fat sagging body parts so you may need to practice more than skinnier women. So wearing heels when you're 850 lb compared to 400 or less if a big challenge because you have a "GIGANTIC" fat tummy that sits 1 metre away from you're body which can put on weight in front of you and very high heels that slant you towards where you're facing which could make you fall down much easily and there aren't any shoes designed for girls that are as fat as me. I got a checkup at the doctor last Saturday and she did some tests on me and the results were that I had no health issues and that I had only gained weight with no health issues. She also told me I excercise well too and that I should eat these me amount of food and excercise the same amount so that I can maintain my weight to 850 or even get fatter without being bedbound because I can get up without help from anyone and I can run quite fast and also because I like being fat and soft without any health issues. You should be able to wear stilettos with quite a bit more pain than skinny women. I'm 850 lb and you're about 200 lb so you should be far more comfortable in heels than me! Wearing 6 inch stilettos is gonna be far more difficult when I reach 1300 lb as all the factors for making them more difficult to wear for skinny women are gonna be much worse. I love being fat because I become very soft and if I become skinny, then I will feel small amongst everyone else.
